The potential removal of the EBacc requirement was raised as a concern during the NALA Lounge discussion in May on the Curriculum and Assessment Interim Report. Whilst it was acknowledged that not every school worked towards the government set targets, the EBacc measure did ensure that Languages remained in the picture for school performance data. It was proposed that NALA should request an impact assessment study if the EBACC requirement were to be removed. The letter from NALA to the DfE is below.
