Schools across England are invited to take part in this year’s Language Trends 2025 survey. This research provides an independent picture of the teaching of languages in English primary, secondary and independent schools. Your responses will help to build an accurate, up to date picture of the views of teaching professionals and to assess the impact on your school of those policy developments which affect languages education in schools.
The Language Trends survey is run annually by the British Council. The links below have been specially adapted for primary, secondary and independent schools, designed in conjunction with the Association for Language Learning and ISMLA.

The deadline for completing the survey is Friday 7th February 2025, but you are encouraged to submit your response as soon as possible. The report will be available in June 2025.
