From 9 to 19 May the Institut français goes Beyond Words to cross borders and genres and takes you on a literary journey through discussions, readings, live performances and screenings.
Expect the best of contemporary French literature in English translation, the latest and most inspiring publications from both sides of the Channel and beyond and a great line-up including acclaimed authors and new voices.
This year, Beyond Words will pay tribute to Maryse Condé, as well as Marcel Pagnol and the city of Marseille.
The festival will also address women’s rights issues and explore how individual lives and history are intertwined, through several books, films, readings and discussions.
